Siegfried Knecht

Siegfried Knecht graduated with a degree in computer science from RWTH Aachen University. He began his professional career at the Jülich Research Center, followed by positions at the Federal Ministry of Research and at the Association of Research-Based Pharmaceutical Companies. Today he is VP Director R&T Affairs in the Public Affairs department of Airbus in Germany and has more than 18 years of experience in the aerospace industry and over 25 years of experience in political lobbying. In June 2011, Siegfried accepted the appointment as Chairman of the Board of aireg (Aviation Initiative for Renewable Energy in Germany), the German organization for sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) in Germany.
