
Dr. Philipp Steinberg studied law, political economy and taxation in Berlin, Münster and Paris, obtaining his doctorate in 2001. In addition to the 1st and 2nd state examinations, he holds a Licence d’Etat Francais and an MBA. After working in a major law firm, he worked in the Federal Ministry of Finance and as a party executive of the Social Democratic Party of Germany. In 2013, he moved to the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection as a sub-department head, where he took over as Head of Department I (Economic Policy) in 2016. Since 2022, he has headed the newly established Department WE (Economic Stabilization and Energy Security).
